I'd be taking a look at the betting markets with the state of India's 'catching' over the last few overs.

Curran blows simple chase by showing no intelligence.

3-0 gifted away (despite a 2nd XI playing) due to poor lower order batting. Chris Woakes is the critical player in this side. With him in they win comfortably 3-0.

Might be Jack given Matty's selection record
Not sure Barry would have played ODI's

World ODI XI of all time:

Bairstow
Roy
Kohli
Richards
Stokes
ABdV
Buttler (wk)
Klusener
Akram
Bond
Murali

Jayasuriya unlucky and could play if a second spinner was needed, but the greatest ODI partnership of all time has to be played.

That was a decent win

I noticed there didn't seem to be an 'umpires call' from 3yds though they make a soft signal for catches 70yds away

Because for run outs, stumpings, there isn't a soft signal on field, as the third umpire is making the decision (at the request of the on field umpire). For catches that are reviewed, the on field umpire makes the decision (soft signal) and is reviewed off field.

13, 100+ opening partnerships for Bairstow and Roy, in 44 knocks. Wonder how many low score they can have, for people call for one, or bot, to be dropped.

Very much like watching West Ham watching England cricket

When its good its good but then can capitulate from such strong positions

It was the exact same as the Kohli one in the T20 game

That was also given not out so they cant complain to much

Re: England tour of India (Live on Channel 4)
Am surprised they haven't improved the quality of the pictures.
All very fuzzy but still seemed clear there wasn't any part of the batted grounded beyond the line.
I noticed there didnt seem to be an 'umpires call' from 3yds though they make a soft signal for catches 70yds away on the boundary.

El Scorchio 4:18 Fri Mar 26
Re: England tour of India (Live on Channel 4)
That was VERY generous toward Stokes from the umpires. I thought that was out. Surprised Kohli isn't raging about that.

They have given the batsmen a lot of benefit of the doubt this series.

Re: England tour of India (Live on Channel 4)
My view is that every TEST should be selected at full strength but also acknowledge that the next World Cups in t20 & ODI are in India.
There is also the packed schedule England have in 2021 (incl those going to the IPL) & the effect of COVID bubbles.
Obviously you want to win every game but to me ODI's & t20's for international teams are all geared to winning the World Cup in each.
The outcome of this tour to me comes down to :
1. Who won the Test series
2. Who got the most out of the t20's & ODI's.

Re: England tour of India (Live on Channel 4)
The next ODI world cup is but a minor relevance. These are the games that are being played now and these are the games that selection must be fully geared towards. NOT the world cup. Each game has to be played to win and selected to win.

What a load of bollocks the selectors are.

Re: England tour of India (Live on Channel 4)
Its 2 years to the next ODI World Cup & just think England are being too cautious in selection here.
India picked two debutants .... one took 4 wickets after a poor start & the other made a quick 50. Why not 3 games for Parkinson & Livingstone?
Heard a commentator in the studio say that England dont want to lose the series as it might hurt QUALIFICATION FOR THE WORLD CUP.
FFS ... that is NOT in danger.

Game was in the bag & Morgan's comments about having no problem with them throwing it away because 'we only bat one way' are palpable nonsense.

Re: England tour of India (Live on Channel 4)
This tour has basically gone tits up since the first test. A few players living on past glories at the moment.

I don't mind Kohli, gets over excitable at times but rather that than some stone faced bore. Lovely debut for the Pandya lad. Obviously meant the world to him.

Karthik is doing OK on the commentary, nice looking lad too which always helps.
